It's a marvelously gray and drizzly day today, and in honor of the gray and drizzle, I treated myself to hot chocolate this morning.
Our living room is now in much better order and many boxes of books have been unpacked (you can do that when you know where your bookshelves are going to live).
I made lasagna on Wednesday and it was so good we had it for dinner last night, too. Leftovers make evenings very easy.
It's Friday.
I take my health for granted so much of the time, but I was sick Monday and Tuesday with what may have been mild intestinal flu. Now that I'm better I'm really enjoying the luxury and privilege of feeling not-sick.
I'm still really proud of the Libraries where I work for implementing no-charge inter-library loan for all of our university students, faculty, and staff. We did it in spite of budget cuts and hiring freezes.
There are no meetings on my work calendar today.
Tomorrow I'm going to use the slow cooker to make something yummy and autumnal, involving pork roast and cranberries.
Dot seems to really appreciate the hot chocolate.
This year is better than last year, at least (knock on wood) so far. It sometimes hits me like a revelation now - that things get better. I'm really, really grateful for that.
