At least he had a reason to be there, since he was the controller of Giant Robot.

And if you watch that episode again, check out that dubbing. Makes a Godzilla movie look like flawless art by comparison.

You have to wonder what went through the minds of the original actors when they realized that THIS was what their career turned into. Though given that some of them apparently made their careers out of working in tokusatsu, they can;t have been too badly bothered by it.
