Ooooohhh Yeaahhhh! The 'Macho Man' has left us

Just read something rather sad -- Former pro wrestler Randy "Macho Man" Savage just died in a car crash in Florida.

If you were a kid in the 80's who followed wrestling, like a lot of us did, you must have seen the Macho Man beating up the good guys at least once. Always accompanied by the lovely Miss Elizabeth, he was one of the best I-love-to-hate-this-guy heels in the business. I remember whole rooms of people cheering when he lost a bout and booing him when he cheated his way to victory (and yes, I know the fights were staged. So what? You didn't cheer when Vader 'killed' the Emperor?).

And of course there was his career in WCW, as a salesman for Slim Jims, a voice for cartoon characters, and -- his biggest stretch of all -- portraying a pro wrestler in the Spider-man movie. (IRL, Macho's first gimmick was as a Spidey homage named "The Spider-Friend".)

I used to enjoy booing you, Macho Man; thanks for the memories.

EDIT: A blast from the past that some of you may remember, from back whenn the Macho Man did a rap CD.
