Blast from the Past: Batboy and Rubbin!

This was recently done on the animated show Batman: The Brave & the Bold to show different versions of Batman over the years, with the other two being Bat-Manga (60's campy anime Batman) and the Scooby-Doo Batman.

I think this one was the most comical of the lot, being based on a clasic 50's Mad magazine parody. Enjoy!

weirdness, animation, comedy, superheroes, funny

This is wonderful! I read "Batboy and Rubin" years ago in MAD. I had no idea someone had animated it until you posted this. Thank you! :-D

Glad you like it! This was done for a special April Fool's day episode with the Bat-Mite. B-M has appeared regularly on the show, and they did the heretofor impossible by actually making him cool.

I may post the other alternate-Batman bits later on. The anime version is downright bizarre!

Looks as if Batman set up Lord Death the Bomb . . . I especially liked that remark at the end from Batboy about dubbing. XD

Great videos! Thank you -- I love it. :-D

Glad you like them! The other episodes of thre show are usually as bizarre and well-done; this show is Silver Age done right.

It's definitely good Batman -- the villains are tres creepy, the shadows dark, the action fast and furious. XD

I agree on the dark and creepy tones for some episodes; considering that this is supposed to be Silvr Age in tone, it's surprising to realize just how nasty some of them have gotten. Like the one where the Spectre turns Professor Milo ito cheese and is implied to feed him to his own rats, or the "Emperor Joker" episode where they kill Batman, on screen, about a dozen times or so in a minute!

That one also had a very clever ending in how Baman outsmarted the UberJoker.

That show is one thing I miss about not having cable/Dish. It's not on Torrent as I've found yet.

I hope you get it back soon then, or at least find some affordable DVD collections of it.
