Question time for fellow Christians

Jan 06, 2010 08:10

Sorry, but this is a question that's been nagging at the back of my mind for a
long time. And no, it's not a criticism/complaint about anyone here.

Why are some Christians friendly with, even admiring of, people who have made it
hopelessly obvious that they absolutely utterly HATE Christians and
Christianity?

I'm not talking non-believers.

I'm not talking people who criticize things they see as wrong with the faith*
(though those complaints usually boil down to "This morality stuff is too hard
-- you have to get rid of it to please me!").

I'm not talking people who point out certain Christians whose behavior has
fallen short of the standard we are supposed to meet* (though, again, some
critics set a standard for 'Christian behavior' so high that Jesus Himself
couldn't hope to meet it).

I'm talking people who /hate us/ and love to let everyone know about it.

Are these people just nuts or something? You don't see Blacks for David Duke or
the Jewish-American Hitler Fan Club.

I'm hoping that someone can give me an explanation that will work better than
mine, is all.

Thanks and take care.
