News for classic animation fans
The original Black & White Popeye cartoons have been released today in a DVD collection containing sixty of them. All uncut, unedited, presented exactly as they were first seen back in the 1930's.
If and when I get the chance I'll pick it up simply because the B&W Popeyes are some of the first cartoons I can remember. That and because, increasingly, the junk that the Cartoon Network shows as 'animation' makes me wonder if those guys think that all real cartoons are written by stoners smoking crack.
Now I'll just be hoping for a collection of the early color Popeye cartoons, so I can get the one featuring that curvy wolfess from Alaska. ;)
