I read this book in about a day and a half - and that's fast for me. I went into this book with lower expectations than I've had for a book in a while. I actually found it was better than I was afraid.
I did read the first book in the Kate Daniels series and it didn't do much for me. I actually like this character and story line better than the "main" series. Better is still relative.
There are small inconsistencies through the course of the book that I found distracting. In one chapter the main character crushes her phone, then just a couple of pages later uses it to make calls. Stuff like that bothers me and pulls me out of the story.
All in all I didn't hate it, but not I'm not going to rush out for the rest of the series. Three stars, but just barely.
