Sleeping in

Mar 23, 2004 14:12

So I definitely slept all day. Ha, ha. I actually just woke up. I mean, I didn't fall asleep until 6am, but still... it seems kind of excessive, no?

So for everyone wondering (since everyone keeps asking me) I am in Tallahassee right now. I don't know why. Well, I do. I'm visiting a friend of mine, he was kind of lonely up here because he is shy and only has a couple of friends, all from back home. He really should live in one of those apartments that have two bedrooms so that he would have a roommate but still his much desired privacy, but oh well. And his place is cute. Definitely a bachelor pad. (Boys!)

So he was kinda sad because his friends were out at clubs (which isn't his thing), and I threw a pillow at him and said, "You have me, what more do you need?" And he told me it was different because even though we've been friends for years (too many years- six- that's a third of my life!) there were still things he couldn't talk to me about. I was kinda confused. What can I not be talked to about? We talk about girls and sex, and once a guy can talk to me about that, he usually will talk to me about anything. "Like what?" I asked. His response? Cars.

And he was right. I only know the very basics about cars, like how they work. I didn't know any of the intimacies or the performance parts or how they work.

The next day was a long day for him- work and class, so I pretty much had the place to myself. After my run and my shower and stuff, I jumped back into bed with his laptop (which has a wireless connection- I'm poor, so I plug mine in) and started researching all of this stuff.

And I am proud to say that if there was ever any doubt of me being an engineer or mechanically inclined, it is gone. Not to say that researching and inventing are at all the same, but as I was reading it all it made so much sense, and I would find myself thinking something like, "They should have a part that does this," only to read a few more pages and find out that they do. It came so easily. I wanted Grant to be home just so I could go pop his hood and start taking shit apart (though he loves Sally and would probably kill me first).

And, I went driving the other night and kicked ass!! I was even pushing the speed limit and doing like eight over, and I still felt comfortable. When did this all change? I used to creep at ten under.

I think it has happened. I think I have transformed into the typical college student. Being here at FSU, if I had to assign a gender, I would say a typical college boy. But I am sure I will find some normal girls once I start school in the fall.

That was quite a little mini-novel. Okay, guys, I will be back in Miami on the 30th, Tuesday. Wednesday I am going to the fair with my Ally (who will be up here in Tally on Friday, I'm so excited!) so give me a call if you want to make plans. If you don't have my number, email me- eribunny@yahoo.com. See you guys soon!!
