I hope you find sense from your medical notes and if you have to have another procedure let them know you've had a failed local before and ask them to be extra careful. I hope your head part of you recovers from this as soon as possible alongside the actual finger bits.
Agony happens, but dismissing the patient is WELL out of order. My partner had a trapped gallstone trapped for a week because she wasn't "screaming" in agony despite the fact that we were describing classic symptoms.
I think it comes down to a "am I listening" or "am I hearing what _I_ want to hear" from the medics - which even accounting for patients often being unable to express themselves clearly so requiring some level of interpretation wht you had was WELL out of order as you were clearly in a lot of pain.
Locals are odd. My hand surgery last yr I requested painkillers 'sooner rather than later' cos I knew it'd get worse. My pain levels increased while the local was wearing off and dropped by 90% when the local had finally totally worn off yet they'd used local to make it less painful afterwards for me ;( I blame nerve-oddness cos nerves are weird.
