I just submitted my AMCAS app (for those unfamiliar, that's the common application)...but I think that it'll take 6 weeks to get it processed?! I guess I can use the time to take a well-needed rest before doing my secondary apps. For any of my premed friends (or current med students), how long did it take for AMCAS to get your App sent out once you ( Read more... )

Check the websites of all of the schools to which you applied. Some of them have their secondaries online and do not need to get your primary first. And, yes, some schools will send you a secondary before your primary is processed. A few schools will actually screen your primary before your secondary, but, given your numbers, that just means delays (unless you applied to Stanford, which just hates East Coast applicants and hardly ever takes them).
