7)Ive always wondered what your start in computers was and why it stuck with you, even though we all know you hate em :)
It's funny, really :) Back in 94/95, when I got my first computer (an IBM Aptiva 486DX2/66 with 4MB of Ram and a 540MB Hard drive, a full 1MB of memory on a cirrus logic video card, and screaming 2x CD-Rom) I knew nothing at all about them. I used my computer to play Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia and the gay multimedia demo CDs that came with my computer. A friend of mine came over and installed Doom2, and that kept me occupied for a few months (years, actually, but for months, it was exclusively Doom][).
Sometime in the beginning part of 96, I was working the sales table at a basketball tournament. I knew that there was going to be no traffic during the games, so I brought a book to read. That book happened to be the "PC-DOS 6.8" manual that came with my computer. I read it cover to cover over the course of the day. That was how I learned DOS, and it got me started learning :)
I learned linux because I found a power supply in a field :) Ask me sometime in person, and I'll tell you about it.
