Happy Birthday, Jamsie-Boy!

Apr 21, 2009 07:20

Today is April 21st. Nothing special, you think. But alas, you think wrong for today is an extremely special day. For thirty years ago today, a certain Scotsman, one who has stolen my heart away, was born. And this post is in dedication of him. So...

Happy Birthday, James McAvoy!

(Order is not based on importance or ranking.)

Reason 1: Talent
While it may have been his ridiculously good looks that first got us to notice him, it was his flawless talent that really drew us in. For me, it was in The Last King of Scotland.

Reason 2: Stage Performances
He's even shown his acting chops in the theatre. More talent to love.

Reason 3: Costume Dramas
Stick any man in a cravat, especially this man, and I am happy.

Reason 4: Red Carpet
Red carpets are fun. Plus it gets our man in a tux.

Reason 5: Accent
I'm a sucker for Scottish accents. I could fall asleep to one, they're so heavenly. His is no different.

Reason 6: Eyes
Those eyes! He's on par with Ol' Blue Eyes.

Reason 7: Smile
Makes you melt.

Reason 8: Hair
It's been in many stages and forms and we love it all.

Reason 9: Facial Expressions
I have to laugh every time I see one. They're adorable.

Reason 10: Kilts
He's man enough to wear one and looks good doing it.

Reason 11: Kisses
Jealous much?

Keira Knight even calls him the best kisser.

Reason 12: Keira Knightley
There's always that one co-star that actors or actresses have amazing chemistry with. For me, it's Keira Knightley.

Plus this article. They're hilarious together.

Reason 13: Charity Work
He cares about the world we live in. Talent and a good heart? I'm done for.

Comic Relief Picture and Comic Relief Video.

Reason 14: Anne-Marie Duff
His relationship with his wife is beautiful, the sheer love they have for one another.

Reason 15: Fame
He doesn't want it. It's not why he acts. I applaud him for that.

James McAvoy slams fame-seeking thespians

Reason 16: Lightsaber
He owns one. My heart has burst with geeky love.

He really does, I swear.

Reason 17: Down to Earth
He doesn't let the fame get to his head.

He's a real person. And he curses a lot - he's human!

Reason 18: Snarky
Let's face it, he has a Scottish attitude on him. And it's pretty sexy.

Just watch the video.

Reason 19: Humour
He never fails to make me laugh.

Just read this Oscar article and you'll see what I mean.

Reason 20: Interviews
And he's especially hilarious in interviews.

Reason 21: Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
But even more-so when next to another Scotsman.

He is my absolute favourite on Craig Ferguson. See? No, really, he's brilliant on it.

Reason 22: Tom Lefroy
He wasn't just one of Jane Austen's leading men, he was Jane Austen's leading man. And Tom is probably my favourite character of his.

Reason 23: Robbie Turner
Has the blood begun to race yet?

Reason 24: Macbeth
He sings! In a Shakespeare adaptation!

Reason 25: Brian Jackson
The geeky love, it heightens.

Reason 26: Johnny/Max
And with an American accent to boot.

Reason 27: Leto Atreides II
Anyone who can skillfully capture the legenedary character of Leto II has my vote. It definitely helps that it's James, though.

Reason 28: Rory O'Shea
With limited mobility and a challenging role, James gave another incredible performance.

Reason 29: Mr. Tumnus
Come on, admit it, he made us crush on a childhood character who's not even human!

Reason 30: He's James Freaking McAvoy
Need I say more?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. ♥
