Oh, daddy.

I just walked into my parents room to tell them about the new book that Rick Riordan is releasing to tide us over until the fifth PJatO book comes out.

Dad: Stacie, we have too many books. We need to take a step back.

Ralph Fiennes outshone everyone bar none

This is basically what my review consisted of too! He easily stole every scene he was in, and not because he was overacting or demanding the attention. His performance is so subtle, and his character could have been reduced to just another villian, and yet he gave him an element of sympathy. I found myself... well, not quite feeling sorry for him, but not neccessarily hating him as I would someone else who had done the things that he had. Keira Knightley was wonderful too, but yes, Fiennes easily steals this. It just proves how much talent he has.

AND OMG YES, he and Joseph look so alike. You have some acting siblings that don't really resemble each other, and some that do, and these guys are the latter. You can almost see the similarities in their acting styles, but at the same time they manage to have their own unique style too. I can't wait to see Joe in Vivaldi.

I think Joe looks so much like Ralph in this picture:

Hurrah for having the same opinion! I certainly enjoyed Knightley's performance but it was Fiennes' performance that took my breath away. I love that he didn't need to say anything to steal a scene. I especially enjoyed the fact that, as you said, he wasn't just some regular antagonist meant to get in the way of the protagonist. Fiennes made the character so much deeper so that we could, on some level, have feelings besides bitterness towards him.

Whoa. He does look like Ralph in that picture. I like that they're so similar and yet so different; it gives me something different to love about each of them.

It is fair to say that the Fiennes brothers have more than their fair share of beauty and talent!
