No explanation has been given for the temporary modification of the "most popular" list, though. I suppose (hope!) for this, a separate post will follow.
Also, Anton Nossik has posted as well, explaining his point of view and commenting on the interview that has caused such a stir these last days.

I'd like to add here that I've shown the original to two Russian friends of mine, who don't know what LJ is or are involved in any way (I wanted an "independent" view, not tinted by LJ experience etc.), and they both confirmed that the tone of the interview in the original version was rude. As I don't speak Russian myself, I'm a bit at loss here.
