Holidays! In - Switzerland (district Balconia)

Finally! For the first time in - *counts on fingers* - well, many years, I'm taking more than one weeks of holidays in a row. I usually can't leave for longer because of the cats, but this year we wanted to go on our big trip to Ireland, as you might remember.

As you can see, I'm still here. And will stay here for another three weeks. Max' vet bill (surgery and meds), Fluke's (miss her so much...) vet bill and meds, plus, oh, look, my OWN vet insurance and doctor bills have protected Ireland's coasts for at least another year. Somewhere, I hear a leprechaun laughing.

So it's holidays at home for me:

That's not bad, in fact I'm going to enjoy it a lot. I have a season-ticket valid for all public swimming pools around here and a monthly ticket for public transport. So I'll go to my favourite pool (which has - bliss! bliss! - a separated "women's only" pool!), lie in the shadow (otherwise I'd re-enact that scene from Wizard of Oz... "I'm melting!!!"), take some sandwiches with me and a good book. Whee! No work! And it's not like I have nothing planned:

We used our flight vouchers left from last year to book a trip to London, where we'll go to see the Star Wars Exhibition (for Miss C.) and Bloomsy on stage (for me - what a surprise.) - heh, yeah, I know, I can't help it. I'll raid Hatchard's and Fortnum + Mason. I'm so looking forward to this!

Miss C.'s parents invited us for a day trip to a great amusement-park, where Miss C. will very likely spend most of her time on some rollercoaster or another, while I'll try to work out how to put my hands over my eyes and eating cotton candy simultaneously. I'll manage.

We'll go and see a training game by our favourite football team which luckily is currently in a training camp in Switzerland.

Then there are two half days I'll have to spend at the hospital, but it's no biggie and I'll take a book with me.

Sooo I hope I can finally catch up with LJ, birthdays, your lives and ironing. Eh, forget the latter. It's overrated. :)
