Dear George

I'm sorry we haven't talked for such a long time - you know what it's like. Birthdays to celebrate, friends to visit, prisoners to torture...

I promised you some feedback on your idea for a "redefinition" of the Geneva Convention. Don't take the worldwide upset too hard, George - I think it's a good idea. If you redefine the Geneva Conventions to American standards, then we all will finally have it in writing what American standards are, and that will make dealings easier in the future.

Looking at your current ratings, though, I'd suggest you hire a good media manager. See, if you redefine the Geneva Convention, other countries will do it, too. So you will sooner or later come into a situation where you have to explain to families why their kids who served in the army were tortured while sent to end of the world to free some nation or other. You won't be able to call it "hideous breach of the Geneva Convention" anymore. How about "regretable missinterpretation of the US edition of the Geneva Convention? OK, a little long to memorise, but I'm sure you'll manage.

You should really consider to come and democratise Switzerland. People are so negative about you and your country. Let me give you an example: I went to the playground with my niece yesterday and met a nice lady with two kids and we began talking. She asked me why the hell Americans are not out on the streets protesting against you. I so hate such questions, George. Wasn't the Boston Tea Party rebellion enough? What more do these people want - Americans speaking up against you, just because you think torture is a great tool to get information? Because you want trials and possible executions without, you know, a right of the accused to defend himself? As if people hadn't more important things to do, seriously.

You're doing the right thing, George - you're honest with the world. You're not holding back onyour personality and your intentions. That's what I love so much about your country, George - people know their priorities. They do stand up and fight when it comes to the truly important matters, like extramatrimonial affairs and exposed nipples, but won't bother you about insignificant issues like torture.

Btw. I'm sorry for all the trouble Colin Powell caused. I read that he said "the rest of the world is beginning to doubt America's moral basis for fighting this war".

Trust me on that: he is wrong...

So, have to go now. I hope all is fine with you despite the current trouble. Don't worry too much - just make sure people have enough TV to watch, and nobody will bother you. And please ignore the wall that's currently being built around your country. It's only there to protect - you. You of course. Like - totally you.
