RingGone

So, my dears... I'll soon be off to RingCon. In other words: four days of

I danced the big flat-cleaning tango today. Not that the place was a tip, but you know - the "we're going to have visitors" kind of clean. Viktorya's coming to live here for the weekend, look after the kitties and watch all the dirty movies I don't have (raunchiest I could offer would be TON's "After Dark", and I don't think Viktorya fancies hairy butts). Well, there are always my LOTR collection and Pirates of the Caribbean ( Viktorya -> fellow Bloomsy-liker).

The rest of the time Miss K. will look after les mau-maus. Chances are they will all be fat and resembling bowling balls upon our return. Hehe.

Have to work tomorrow, unfortunately, but the last two days I spent on pampering myself. Hairdresser, pedicure - bliss! And thanks to Miss G and Miss N, I'm now up-to-date on all gossip in town. Fear me!

As some of you might know, Sean Astin has cancelled his RingCon appearance, as he has to work on "24". Me and Miss C. are probably two of the 0.0002% of the population who really don't care for Sean Astin. While I adored Sam in the movies, I don't really feel like cheering such a loyal Bushonite. *snark*

Now, where was I. Ah yes, RingCon.

We're both very much looking forward to it. Not because of the "stars", though, but because the last time we've been there, it was a lot of fun with a lot of nice people. I'm especially looking forward to the bands. Yay! We want to party! Miss Suzy will be there as well, by the way. :-)

No costumes/whateveryoucallthem for us, though. I'd look really, really stoopid dressed up as an Elf, and I refuse curling my hair, wearing a Dirndl and glue hair to my feet. No way. No Hobbity. Next year, so we should attend, I might consider dressing up as a glass of pickled frog-feet. Or Glorfinkle. Now THAT would be fun!

We already stocked up on Skyyy Melon Vodka. Lots of it. Thinking of a very small percentage of the con-visitors, I have the eery feeling we'll need a drink. Obsession central. Huuuuuuh. It's a bit like Reality TV, really - while we're shaking our heads about the Elfie-chasers and Extra-hunters, we're also oddly fascinated.

I know that this probably sounds a tad bit arrogant. Alas, I can't help it: the word "drool" used three times in one sentence with additional netspeech is like the scratching of fingernails on a blackboard to me. Extra point for "lolz". I guess I'm too old for this. "U" is not a word, dammit.

Anyway. You can reach me until tomorrow evening by mail, then we are gone, gone, gone. If I can arrange some sort of internet connection, I'll keep you updated on the goings-ons. :-)

Have fun! I'm quite sure we will!(--> Vodka!)
