ROTK XTD ED: sauron, as he really was
this is absolutely amazing! I have to share!
still making my way through the commentaries. the mouth of sauron is discussed, and how having a main villain who is a flaming eyeball is a bit of a challenge for a director...
now, at some point, peter jackson obviously considered to let aragorn and his friends see sauron the way he looked like when he deceived the elves. as a beautiful, stunning, angelic being (yes, we are still talking about sauron).

am I the only reader of miss rat's stories who squees "iluinil" here?
jackson's idea was to have aragorn being blinded by sauron's beauty and then see him transform into his evil self. and yes - I HAD to make an animation!
