again some information for easier understanding of the following cartoon.
what the loch ness monster is for the scots, the "reduit" is for the swiss. this is the mythological place deep in the heart of the alps where government and leaders of the army would hide in case of a war. I'm not giving away a big military secret here if I tell you that quite a few mountains in switzerland resemble swiss cheese, what with all the tunnels and holes. this "reduit" is what you will encounter here.
also a word on the "flight access from the north". this was/is a big thing about zurich airport, where people tried to prevent "flight access from the south" to avoid further noise. it's a private joke.
we also meet micheline calmy-rey again (our socialist minister of foreign affairs). the "sämi" mentioned in the cartoon is our minister of defense. yep, another representant of the right-wing swiss people army (eh, party, sorry.)
I would also like to point out that the average lake in switzerland has the size of an average swimming pool in hollywood, and that our country has no access to the sea.
