Another opening, another show...
Yep, opening night is done. About a third of a house (or less), thanks to weather - highway travel was "unadvised" due to blowing snow - basketball playoffs, some event around the School of Music, and hordes of people who always wait until at least the second night to attend.
I don't think anyone can fault the performances; aside from a few very minor slips (easily covered) we zipped through in high spirits. I missed going out with everyone afterwards (damn, but I hate having no money in the bank), but there should be another opportunity.
Really, it's a play with something for everyone: a happy love story, a sad love story, a humanizing-effects-of-art story... all running simultaneously. Good stuff. I'm having huge fun with one of my cast mates: historically, our characters hated each other with a passion, so we're throwing that around quite liberally, and glaring (hopefully not too near-sightedly!) at each other at every opportunity.
