Everything from Kittens, to Cuddles, to Funerals

Aug 31, 2008 22:18

So Miya has stopped moving her kittens into hidden crevices in my room, thankfully. As soon as Dad gave her the BOX OF DOOM(tm) she let the poor things stay put. I hope she feels more secure now. I tried to stop letting people see the kittens but Jessie, Grandma, and Janet all came to visit today and this was all their first time seeing the kittens. Grandma even touched them! O.o;;; Oh well.

I was having no luck shopping for clothes to wear to the funeral tomorrow when Janet came and saved my butt. She found me, half sitting, half laying across a table in front of the Bear Mountain Coffee Shop. Until she got there she didn't even know why I wanted her help shopping, she just knew I needed an outfit for something. Janet was very supportive and she gave me a lot of help. She liked how, in my family, we don't wear black to funerals. We try to make it as happy an affair as possible. Funerals are a celebration of the life that just came to an end. Oma is finally resting, the poor woman needed it more than most. She literally worried herself to death. I thanked Janet for her help (she really lifted my spirits too, she is one of the kindest, most energetic people I know) by letting her see the kittens for a couple minutes. She lives just a couple blocks away so it wasn't a terribly huge detour for her.

Mike came over after gaming all afternoon just to see me. We didn't really spend a huge amount of time together because almost as soon as we started cuddling I fell asleep. Apparently, I have a tendency to pull Mike down into naps with me. There is almost nothing better than waking up snuggled next to Mike under a big fluffy duvet. ^3^

It is simple things that take my sad and turn it into a happy. Special thanks to Ci-chan and Nuin-chan for such wonderful texts. I love my friends~!!
