SO BAD AT UPDATING OMG.
Here, have a list by category, that way you can just jump to the bits you care about.
School: LAST SEMESTER THANK GOODNESS. Unless something gets totally screwed up. I have two, count 'em, two, whole classes; one is the Intro to Linguistics class that I've been avoiding forever because it scares me, and the other is my senior seminar on Henry James because the one I wanted (Dickens with Dr. Hackenberg) wasn't offered this semester, and Henry James was at least Victorian and fictionally British like me. So far both are going well, and I am already slacking off like a boss, because I am a horrible person.
Work: I still need to get a real job like the grown-up that I am supposed to be, but I'm getting a little better. Barring any paperwork snafus, I have gotten approved to be hired as the Assistant Production Manager for the school's theater department, which I wanted to do for the experience/resume building first and then found out it was paid, so that's exciting. It's more of what I've been doing anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard to add on to my life, and I get to work with Clyde, who is one of my most favorite people ever, so yay! Once Jump (see below) is over, I may also apply to a bookstore or two near my house and see if I can pick up something else as well.
Theater: Jump is going well. We're spending tomorrow creating a guerilla performance art piece that we are then going to perform in various spots around San Francisco to promote the show...I'm a little freaked out by the thought, but it's another first for me I guess. I will be running around filming and photographing it so that we can plaster it all over the intertubes. The other show I was helping with, Life x3 opened on Friday and looked pretty damn good considering what a mess they were in. (They had barely three weeks to rehearse before going up. Holy. Crap.)
Books: According to Goodreads, I have read 62 out of my goal of 100 books for the year and am 3 books behind to stay on target. I just came off a Restoration/Sun King era kick, and and now working slowly through Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell (because my copy is too big to carry about) and I'm about halfway through a fantasy/fiction/romance book called Lady of Hay full of past-life regression, sibling rivalry, and Medieval England. It's pretty good for a Kindle freebie grab. And of course, I'm still creeping through my huuuuuge Le Morte d'Arthur that I've been working through off and on for over a year because I fail. I squee every time Bedivere is mentioned. I'm so bad.
Writing: I suck at it. That's about all right now. I have two or three options for my NaNoWriMo novel; I'll pick one probably on 31 October. I'm trying to get back into some of the short stories and the two plays that I was working on at the beginning of the summer, and I'm crazy backlogged in FanFic that I want to write but haven't had time to work on.
Life/General: My supposed best friend stopped talking to me around July, either because he's too busy or because he no longer finds me useful...if I can ever get him to respond to me again, I might get to find out which one! But, the gal he introduced me to right before they had a huge blowup and decided they hate each other is awesome, and we hang out, so I still get out of the house on occasion. She's a professional photographer and is going to teach me how to hold reflectors and be her pack mule on shoots so that I can have a useable life skill. :D I still haven't gotten my driver's license, but we have four working cars again, so I can start practicing again. (Sadly, my Laertes is no more thanks to being a black hole of unfixable problems, so we traded him in, got my sister a Toyota Camry, and her Hundai Elantra has become the practice car for my brother and I.)
I think that's about it. I'mma try to start doing more mini updates more often, because it will be good for me dammit. And y'all may get spam of photos/video of this theater project I'm working on, because there's enough of you who are into theater that I figure you might enjoy seeing that stuff.
Augh it's 2:20am. I'm gonna go play games and pretend to be productive to bed now.
