Tra-la-la-update
In reference to that last (locked) post, my grandpa is fine and home, and I hear that my friend's brother is now home as well.
In newer news, between my having no marketable (non-academic) skills and the fact that the economy is shot, finding a job is proving exceedingly difficult. I'm going to try and put in some hours for my dad tomorrow, and in between whatever I'm doing there, I'll be filling out all kinds of online applications and such.
And also, I'm running for Webmaster of the Player's Club next year. O.o I'm a little freaked out because I feel totally unqualified, but the other people I know who talked me into are running for other positions are really supportive. I figure if nothing else, it'll be a good experience.
Also? I loved Doctorow's Ragtime (1975). I liked The Waterworks (1994)well enough. But Loon Lake (1980), which I am currently reading? I am convinced that Doctorow wrote this, and then somebody said "This is good, and we always appreciate your experimentation with style and punctuation and such, but could you please try to make your manuscripts resemble English just a little bit?" But I'm not far in, so I may just need to readjust to his style again.
