Adventures in the World of Words.

Took Lil' Bro and his friend Josh to see The Wild, because otherwise I was never going to get out of the house (and because today is Mom and Dad's anniversary so they wanted to go out to dinner while Penguin was at rehearsal). I think the actual trip went something like this:

Bought tickets to 7:15 showing.
Went to Fuddruckers and ate dinner.
Went to Barnes & Noble and bought Cassell's Dictionary of Word Histories.
Went back to theater and got seats.
Left boys playing Nintendo DS and got Starbucks.
Went back to theater and watched movie.
Went back to Barnes & Noble, met parents who were picking us up, and bought another book.

The second book I bought is called The Compleat Cast of Characters in Literature. It's a little bit like the Smaller Classical Dictionary, but for literary characters. Pretty much, it's supposed to have every character in Classical Lit., plus a little blurb about who they are. Shut up, I know I'm a total geek.

As for the movie...not bad, but I was getting a little tired by the end. I mean, I know it's Disney, but come on. How many times can you really do a Lion King "I think he's dead!" or "I'll shove you off a cliff!" moment? Sheesh. I was pleased with the soundtrack though. It wasn't a cheezy and Madagascar knockoff-esque as I thought it would be, even if one song was written by Eric Idle and John Du Prez.

Also, just so you know, having a few brilliant RPers who you are slightly intimidated of say nice things about you makes for a good ego boost.

I desperately want to write, and I have the inspiration, but the motivation is somewhat lacking. my interest in two of the novels I've been working on has been somewhat revived. I really want to continue working on my 2005 NaNo Novel, but I have quite a dilemma about the ending. Basically there are three possible endings I've come up with, and I don't know which twist it's going to take. usually the characters will tell me what they want to happen, but this time they're being dreadfully quiet. it's a little disconcerting. I also have a great title and a general premise for a play, but I'm afraid it will come accross at too much of a rip-off of Ros & Guil Are Dead and Six Characters in Search of an Author. Maybe I should just try and finish the one I already started.
