Once again, Kpop fandom demonstrates just how immature and hypocritical it can be. Google/Tumblr/Youtube/Facebook anything relating to Heart2Heart and you'll see what I mean.
Now, I'm not saying that I'm impressed by them or their
creepy/tasteless/uninspired facebook song (which isn't even the big issue here because I don't care if they're trolling Kpop or not), but to say that they're 'copying' boy bands from Korea is not completely correct.
As far as my knowledge goes, the original concept of boy bands as they are today in Kpop originated from bands like The Jackson 5, New Edition, New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys, and N*sync. The earliest Korean boy band (mostly acknowledged as Seo Tai-ji & Boys) was conceptualized in the early 1990s. From there, Korea shaped their version of pop music and boy bands into what it is/they are today.
Yes, Heart2Heart is emulating that concept as it is today, but be fully aware of the statements you're making before you make them. Otherwise, it serves no other purpose than to make you look uninformed.
Another thing, fans who tirelessly defend the haters of their oppas and unnies, saying things like "if you don't like it, don't listen... gtfo", if you go and post hate comments on H2H's video, you're a hypocrite. And, about the tags on the YT video; yes it's shameless, I think we can all agree on that, but a majority of the comments I saw were overreactions. Either you can give in and post hate comments, leading more and more people to the video (no publicity is bad publicity), or you can shut up and move on, which sends the message that riding off of other people's coattails is not acceptable and won't get you much attention. But, some people are just feeding the fire, and so those who say we'll eventually have another Friday on our hands are right.
I'd rather spend my time listening to music I like, rather than hating on what I don't like, personally.
This is why I'm not active in fandom.
With that said, I'm a bit pissed at David/Chad/whatever-the-hell he calls himself, because he said something
inaccurate too.
"Wait. These guys (Backstreet Boys & New Kids on the Block) are all in their late 30's & 40's..."
Umm. Wait, what.
As far as I'm aware, Nick Carter was born January 28, 1980. Which means that either I'm incapable of counting or he's 31. Someone give me words, because he. did. not. age my original bias by almost a decade. No.
In conclusion, this was just a sort of rant post against ignorant people, because they annoy me. Fandom WAYLT. I'll shut up now and sleep. Goodnight~ ♥
