Story behind the story
The multiverse challenge at Spectrum-headquarters has been going a long while, and I'd been meaning to write for it but couldn't get inspired...
Until one day I found a really bad Thunderbirds fic lurking in the pit of voles. What made it stand out from the plethora of equally incoherent Mary-Sue centric dross was that the premise amused me;
"[Mary-Sue's] life is unexpectedly changed when she gets into a plane crash. She 'dies' and is revived by magical powers."
Being a rabid CS fangirl I gleefully wondered if perhaps she got taken over by the mysterons ... uh apparently not. Still the plot bunny was born and kept nibbling my toes.
I have never written a crossover before, as you may have guessed. So felt it would be sensible to select from my most familiar fandoms the one that naturally exists within roughly the same universe/timeframe* as CS.
Realised early on that there would be a severe gravitas deficiency decided not to take this too seriously, and have some fun with intertextual references.
*am using the original/TV verse, and 2065 timeline.
