yay, fall

Weather was gorgeous this past weekend, so I actually got out and walked a bit around Weston Reservoir. Somehow, I always end up not getting out there until late afternoon. That does result in some beautiful slanting light through trees moments. This time I played with some manual ISO settings in an attempt to capture what I was seeing -- this is a spot where the path is wide, but in shadow, and just beyond the rise is a long narrow open swampy space, creating this contrast of glowing green/gold light. It's not *quite* what you see, because the foreground that you're standing in doesn't seem quite so dark. But I think my camera isn't good enough to capture that and still keep the background's glowing quality without washing it out. So for now, this will do. (You may click through for a larger size, if you like.)

I have a lot of CA trip photos to post. I gotta get to that soon. You have been warned.
