On the subject of angels

Last weekend one of my neighbors offered to take me along to the supermarket. I readily agreed. Once there, I discovered she didn't need to shop. The trip was entirely for me. She pushed my cart, sacked my groceries and carried them to my kitchen. I've known this lady for a few years; we work in the same building, but mainly just get together when one of us needs to bum a ride somewhere. It was so sweet of her to make a special trip for me.

Today, I went on my own. It was exhausting. Once home, I sat in my car a few minutes to shore up my energy. Got out, pulled three bags out of the trunk, and turned to see another of my neighbors running toward me ... she grabbed my bags and brought them upstairs. Asked me what is going on, as she had been observing my labored walking lately. Gave me her phone number, and demanded I call her if I need help. And also offered to turn me onto a what sounds like a pretty good housekeeper service to help me clean this place when I just can't stand it any longer!!!

These two women don't know each other. These were two acts of totally random kindness. From people who are just casual acquaintances.

Pretty cool.
