No fancy gimmick or graphics this time around, but it has been a pretty good couple of days for me on the game.
Finally I can store my first set of relic armor! Readers may remember that I
completed the relic set a while ago, but that included the +1 version of the hands that I +1’d so many years ago. The cleric’s mitts in Xarc finally went completely free lot with no competition so I picked up a second pair for storage purposes. For someone collecting 8 sets of relic gear while keeping 5 endgame jobs geared and leveling a new one, storage +5 is one of the best gifts you can get.
Out of curiosity, I did a count of all the relic I have, and it is as follows. This doesn’t include any accessories:
* WHM: 6/5 (full set, +1 hands)
* SMN: 4/5 (missing: legs)
* BRD: 3/5 (missing: body, feet)
* PLD: 3/5 (missing: body, legs)
* WAR: 3/5 (missing: hands, legs)
* BLU: 2/5 (missing: body, legs, feet)
* BLM: 1/5 (only have legs)
* COR: 1/5 (only have body)
* DNC: 1/5 (only have feet)
And people ask me why I don’t take freelot stuff like BST and DRG that nobody at all wants. Yeah, I’m collecting enough as is, thank you.
One LS member commented that I get more relic armor than anyone he knows. It’s not quite true, as our LS has a few people with Maat’s cap or are pretty close that seem to literally get like 3 freelot pieces a run, but I’m definitely up near the top. Well, level 9 jobs and every day is Christmas!
AXI won a tier 2 chamber the other day; our first Einherjar win in months and I believe our third win ever. Yeah… This was a nearly flawlessly lucky run in the sense that we had 3 waves of easy enemies, a lot of SMNs for astral flows, and the COR gave back 2hours. And it STILL came down to seconds before timing out. Okay okay, so more than half the run was good planning and good execution, but too much was luck to make me feel comfortable. I wrote up a little post on the AXI forums about what we did right and what we could change for the next runs to rely less on luck and the topic immediately got moved to a forum nobody reads and forgotten. Oh, AXI! You so silly! I honestly don’t know why I bother trying to help.
Winning was cool but the most amusing part of the run was getting charmed by the boss. Since we actually had a chance to win nobody could outright smite me
like I did to Wiseman that one time and not get yelled at so they resorted to taking a bunch of pot shots. In addition to these, I got hit with a holy, a banish 2, had an avatar thwack me a few times, and got about 12 sleep spells casted on me even though I was poisoned.
OWNED.
COR’s at 25 now. I haven’t gotten too many invites for it, though to be fair I’ve either been doing LS events or at class instead of seeking much. But when I do get invites, it’s hard NOT to get good exp. Corsair’s roll goes a long way towards making a lousy party acceptable and a good party great. Pretty much every other roll I use is being judged against a flat 18ish% more exp; if that roll can’t get more more exp than Corsair’s, then it’s probably not worth it.
As you may imagine from seeing my various graphs, spreadsheets, and formulas on Ereblog, the mathematical gambling nature of COR really appeals to me.
Cashed in mah limbus points for homam hands, 2 3/5 baby! My BLU’s wildly unbalanced gear setup is starting to finally get drawn permanently to the impressive side.
Did an impromptu single nyzul run with LS people. There’s a lot of cheap talk floating around about wanting to reform the Nyzul static but no solid ideas of who to invite or if we’re willing to climb again. Personally I do like Nyzul, but I also like not climbing endlessly again, so I’m still on the fence about what to do on this one.
As a final note, S, one of the about 5ish people I really didn't have any respect for left the linkshell recently. Commenting on this too much is a little too much heat for me to bring down upon myself since too many people I know read Ereblog. Let's just say that the Nyzul screenshot above pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter.
