Well. Though in general I’m pretty pleased with playing FFXI as a hobby, I’m coming to the realization that a lot of the actual things I do while playing the game aren’t giving me a particular lot of joy. So I’m going to work on them until I’m satisfied.

Goliard are nearly as good, and if the lack of one MAB ever bothered me, there are plenty of other alternatives. I'm glad I got them but I wasn't about to stay where I was unhappy if it took forever for the 25 to drop.

I understand those feelings completely. Regardless of drops, everyone has a stage where they just have to say "no more". Some people will say "you got your stuff and left!" but, whatever. I hope this decision works out best for you, because there's no point doing something if you're not having fun. {insert generic "it's just a game"-esque thing}.

Anon posters ftl...and I really can't blame ya for feeling the way you do. I did salvage prior to joining my current LS with a group of friends and a few randoms that I didn't know. Nothing is more aggravating than being a mage (RDM in my case) and not having a damn piece of equipment (hi2u goliard body for curing and atleast some enfeeb pieces for the boss) because some clown RNG who forgot to bring more than 1 stack of arrows needed to be fully equipped. Best I can say is make your own group, you seem to have the knowledge and skill, make the best of it. Take as you will though, I'm just a random from another server who is happy with his current salvage and overall FFXI experience.

Yeah, I'm oretty sure I'll be quitting Einherjar soon... This week I had one of those "last straw" moments with them.

We were going in and one of the ls leaders told me to start an alliance - which I did. They gave me my lamps last and i started breaking them as quickly as I could but after I had finished and tried trading mine, I wasnt able to enter meaning they had already started pulling - one of the bards in my party got locked out too. I felt pretty bad and was sure this was my fault, when i realised that there was atleast another party worth of members - 2 bards a redmage (one of the top shell leaders) and afew DD got locked out. So just the general lack of communication thats been keeping us at Rossewie's chamber for 2 months now that miiight make me leave.

Your other issues with salvage are mostly fair though.

I actually enjoy Limbus for Limbus though. It's short and I usually go as a fun job and the AF+1 / ancient beastcoin items are pretty good. It's part of why having so little homam bothers me.
