Stomp the Ground Dancing

A lot of people say that Titan is by far the easiest of the avatars. He was a bit easier than Shiva, but not by a heck of a lot, especially since the fight went on longer than I was hoping due to Titan’s higher defense and stoneskin abilities. But still, as far as soloing goes, pretty darn easy. There’s very little strategy involved other than “keep hitting him” and “keep shadows up” and “stay topped off on HP.”

If you haven’t read it yet, check the Shiva Soloing entry for my approach to these dancer avatar solos, as I fought Titan pretty much the same way.

My gear:

0 earth resistance
(same gear as I fought Shiva with)

Buffs:
Signet
Reraise
Meat Mithkabob

Titan seemed to attack at about the same rate as Shiva. He also seemed to have a little better accuracy for some reason, and I had to cast Utsusemi: Ichi more often. He still missed a lot though so evasion tanking is the way to go.

My normal attacks to Titan - 15 to 20 damage, substantially lower than to Shiva, so this fight took a bit longer.

Titan’s normal hits - 74-100 damage, additional effect earth damage 85-170. Don’t get hit if you can help it.

Earthen Ward - gives Titan stoneskin, but it was pretty weak stoneskin. I broke through it in about 6 or 7 attacks even with my crappy low damage hits.

Megalith Throw - does… something, presumably damage. He tried this twice and it missed me both times.

Mountain Buster - physical attack absorbed by one shadow. Never hit me so I don’t know the damage.

Geocrush - Titan’s most threatening attack. Can do 1000+ damage, ignores shadows, and stuns. I had one hit me for 1000, one for 800, and a couple others around 400. The comforting part about this attack is that it ignores, not strips, shadows, so you’re still protected while you cure yourself even if it does hit hard. Just be sure to try to stay topped off on HP.

Earthen Fury - 825 damage to me, not too bad, though it did strip shadows. Cure waltz IV first, ask questions later.

wtf record?!

I didn’t mess anything up on this run so this is a good estimate to how long it takes to chip away at a big rock with daggers. A bit longer than Shiva, but eh, you’ve got the time.

I think I'll try one of the ones that can heal themselves next, see how that goes.

solo, dnc
