Holy spontaneous automotive combustion, Batman!

Not mine, thankfully. The automotive curse hasn't progressed that far; it still seems to require other vehicles to fuck up any car that we own. But I think we may have passed the curse on to my dad. Yesterday, he and my uncle were at my grandfather's house helping him install the cable antenna that they got him for Christmas. At some point, they realized that Dad's car was on fire. It pretty much combusted for no discernible reason. It wasn't even running.

They called the fire department; fortunately, nothing of great importance was lost (other than the car itself, of course). He lost a nice GPS and a few other gadgets, but his laptop and camera were in the back seat and thus survived. And the car was fully insured.

Apparently, while uncommon, this has been known to happen to cars of this type (Pontiac Grand Prix)-- http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/05/nhtsa-investigating-pontiac-grand-prix-engine-fires/. All in all, it could have been a lot worse. Pictures (during and after the fire) herein:
