I'm at work right now during a lul, so I've decided to record my "Hurricane Chronicles".
Hurricane Ike is now in the Gulf, and will hit Houston late Fri/early Sat. The hospital has initiated a CARLA which means that all members of the ride out team (me) have to report to the hospital and stay here, day and night, until there is no longer any threat to the hospital.
I've got my pillow, blanket, toiletries, etc needed for the stay. The only things I am lacking are snacks. This is because Andrew didn't feel I needed sweets at the hospital!!! He sent me off to work with three cans of tuna and a can of baked beans! Fuck that shit!!! I gave him my card and ordered him to quest for snacks. He'll bring them to me this morning when I call him.
I was scheduled to work Wed, Thurs, Fri nights, and so far that's still the case. The only difference now is that after work Thurs night I have to stay at the hospital during the day Fri, and work that night. If Ike is still reeking havoc, then I'll have to stay at the hospital during the day Sat too. Then if we're still under a CARLA I'll have to work overtime Sat night. This will continue until Ike no longer poses a threat to the hospital.
I'm kind of excited, but mostly tired right now, and the thought of having to sleep here is depressing. I'm going to find someone with Benedryl so I can just sleep in a coma through the day.
