Dear Betsy McCaughey,
WTF is wrong with advanced directives and living wills? Srsly! How can you sit there with a straight face say that having a conversation about what you want done in the event of not being in a condition to make sound decisions, before you get to that point, is dangerous and disgusting? The words I'm thinking of are disingenuous and self-serving. The point is that you make the decisions, YOUR decisions, whether it's "by all means necessary" or "do not resuscitate". I have had one for years, and I look at it as an insurance policy that I won't be kept "alive" like Terri Schiavo.
