Ireland is the same as London. it's like sayin' "i'm'a go see Oklahoma instead of Austin, Texas."
and yes, juding from the fact your facebook and your livejournal have a reference to Tom Petty, I'm sure you do like this song.
my personal favorite Tom Petty song is American Girl. End of story. & wtf is it with Tom Petty? His songs are so simple, yet EVERYONE who likes music adores him. like most of his songs are like 4 chords but man- theyre really solid. lulz.
One is MUCH greener than the other tho... right? haha
Yeah... I had that song on repeat -
I find myself in lyrics in some way... I take them to heart.
But yeah, power chords! I think that is what amazes me about music - if you figure out a handful of chords, you can play dozens of dozens of dozens of songs and yet - most of them are so profoundly different from the rest. It's like just when will we reach the end of original melodies? I realize some melodies are recycled and tweaked but... music has so many complicated, intrinsic components that make it it's own - and sometimes the combination is so remarkably simple.
eh. has a lot to do with the fact that we can make new out of what is old. and in the music industry about 45 minutes is a nice half-life for what's new. 'specially in the hiphop bid'ness. that's prolly why it's so cut-thoat.
yeah. american girl. i remember when i was a kid and learning the little run at the end. i thought i was hot shit. i was the same way with being able to play the riff from thunderstruck with one hand. i used to be such a really good guitar player. now i just do dumb accoustic shit.
