hahaha, that's really funny! my boyfriend is a starbucks barista too! but that has never happened to me. what kinds of piercings does kim have?

Kim has a nose ring and a lip ring. She just started her Barista job recently haha. Well, be careful asking what's on his mind late at night!

how does she "replace her piercings"? i'm especially curious because i have my nose pierced too.

haha, i'm not sure that will be too much of a problem. for one, i'm usually the one always ready whereas he's the one who is too tired. plus, his hours sound much different from kim's. the earliest he starts a shift is at five am and the latest one ends is at eight thirty pm. he tried for the 5-10 or 5-2 shifts the most.

She has some plastic nose/lip rings called retainers that she uses, it makes the piercing less obvious.

ahh, that makes more sense. i've used one once, actually. a lot of the jobs i've applied for don't seem to even allow those, though. :/

What kind of jobs? Even teachers can wear nose rings, as long as they're studs :p

i think it varies by job and by state. abercrombie and fitch told me in an interview that i could only have two ear lobe piercings and that i would have to completely take out my cartilage piercing and my nose piercing because a retainer was still against their "look policy." i was also told that at jamba juice i'd have to take out my nose ring. my application to starbucks told me i'd have to take out "any facial piercings" and a girl who works at the starbucks in safeway (which follows safeway rules rather than starbucks rules) has to take out her gauges.
