I was a dressing room celebrity today. Within moments of half hour, the entire women's dressing room had heard what happened at the bar, and multiple people approached me wanting the lurid details: "C.C., you're, like, the hero of Monday night!" "I heard that a guy was hassling A, and you called him a douchebag to his face and got him thrown out!!" And, of course, they now all know who he is--I wasn't the only person there, and word got round pretty quickly.
The amusing part was that yesterday morning, one of the Fellows I dress phoned to thank me for driving him home from the bar that night, and said Fellow is also an acquaintance of Capt. Skeeze. I ended up telling the Fellow all about what happened, and today when he came in, he apologized for Capt. Skeeze.
"Oh man, C.C.," he said, "Capt. Skeeze doesn't remember anything from that night, and when I told him what happened, he was SO embarassed and feels SO bad."
"Good," I said, "he should."
"Like, he wanted me to apologize for him and actually wanted to call you and apologize personally, but I convinced him that would be a really bad idea."
"I'm glad you told him that, because it would have been a really bad idea, and who he really should be apologizing to is The Intern."
Then we hugged and it was beautiful.
