Hey everyone~ I decided to make a character information post because I thought it would be pretty useful. It's chalk full of information about Lavi, and I'm really hoping that I didn't forget anything. There's so much crap stuff written here that the permissions/character relation post will be separate;;
Personality && General Information
Basically : :
Lavi is a funny, spontaneous, confident, guy with a sense of humor along with some painful memories, a mind that can store information like the internet, a really cool weapon, and a Grandpa that resembles a Panda.

- Noun
1. Your Friend and Mine
Overall, Lavi really does care for his friends. He fights for them, cries like a little girl for them, and is even willing to sacrifice his own life for them. It’s because of them that he’s the way that he is now, and without those important people he met at the Black Order, he’d probably be living as a mask wearing liar with ‘getting along’ issues. [ See: Teenage Angst ]

He also usually enjoys the presence of: Link, Komui (sometimes), Chomesuke, Reever, everyone in the science department, and just a lot of other people that wont be listed.
2. Class Clown
Lavi is on of those people who is constantly joking around and prodding others. He goes from simple teasing to drawing mustaches on his friends while they’re sleeping. Basically, he likes to purposely annoy them for his own entertainment. As long as he can get away with it without getting killed or causing any real harm then he figures it’s alright. After all, Lavi isn’t one to go over board and seriously hurt someone emotionally. His teasing is all in good fun.
3. Smarter Than Your Honor Roll Student
Lavi is so good at memorizing that it would be considered overkill godmodding if it wasn’t canon. His ability to take in information is absolutely amazing considering one chapter covers how he’s able to find one key in a mess of a million other keys because he remember all “the scratches, the dirt, all the patterns of the plating of the real key.” Yes, that is a quote from Lavi and yes, he does find the key in an insanely short amount of time. Since he literally remembers everything, he’s also pretty smart. He can tell you more about history than your history teacher ever could, and he can probably name more books than you knew even existed. The good thing about all of this is that he doesn’t flaunt how great his memorization skills are. Oh, he also likes reading more than any teenager should.
4. Lady Killer
If a pretty woman is walking down the street and Lavi just happens to see her, well, he’ll be all over her. Most of them time he’ll yell out “STRIKE!” before instantly going over to the lovely lady and ravishing her with compliments and all those sorts of things. With Lavi’s luck, he usually ends up hitting on Akuma [ See: Google. Type in ‘Akuma D. Gray Man’ ] by mistake.
5. Teenage Angst
So, Lavi has some issues. There was a time (not too long ago, actually) when he wasn’t particularly fond of people because being a bookman was huge to him and everyone else, in his point of view, was just stupid. Being the funny guy was, at first, just a gimmick until he realized that he was beginning to harbor feelings for his fellow members in the Black Order. There was some period of denial and such, but it all worked out. Anyways, It’s definitely safe to say that the person he is now is his true self (or rather, he’s become that kind of person) so he isn’t really a secret jerk anymore. Now, he certainly does seem to be a social butterfly without any cares in the world, but he still has his own fair share of issues and secrets. It’s pretty easy to get on his good side and establish some sort of friendship but really getting to know him is a bit tough. Not that it matters though, he’d rather forget about what kind of person he used to be anyways.
6. Bipolar Drama Queen
In the course of battle or a, more or less, serious situation/conversation, Lavi will go through a variety of moods. Sometimes, his normal happy attitude will shift to a more stern and serious mood. Other times, he’ll act cocky and make jokes. It all really depends on what’s going on at the time and/or how tough the enemy is. There are times when his mood will go from frustrated to content in an instant or he’ll just be over emotional. He might be too angry, too frustrated, or just too bothered by the sound Krory’s stomach makes when he’s hungry (kudos to anyone who’s read the manga and knows exactly what I’m talking about). It’s almost ironic for someone who was a professional at hiding their self to have such a weak grasp on hiding their emotions. Although, Lavi is usually able to put himself back together pretty quickly if he does slip.

Weapon : :
Has an awesome anti-Akuma weapon is a size-shifting hammer, which he calls Ozuchi Kozuchi ("big hammer small hammer") or Nyoibo. It can grow or extend and the weight increases with its size, but since Lavi is the conformer, the weight does not effect him; However, it does to everyone else (haha). His hammer can also summon several "judgments" with kanji possibly representing the classical elements that can be used individually or combined. However, between some of the seals are question marks. This probably means that Lavi has some seals that he has yet to learn from his Innocence. His techniques so far, are:
Hi Ban: Gouka Kaijin (Fire Seal: Conflagration of Ash): using the fire seal to create a torrent of flames with the form of a snake;
Ten Ban: Raitei Kaiten (Heaven Seal: Thundering Lightning Whirling in the Skies): using the heaven seal to liberate an immense lightning;
Moku Ban: Tenchi Bankai (Wood Seal: Roots Entwining Heaven and Earth): using the wood seal to control objects in nature;
Konbo Ban: Gouraiten (Combo Seal: Strong Thunder of the Heavens) :using both fire and heaven seals to create a huge snake of fire and iron. Also making a shield-like flame wall.
History : :
Age 6: Became the Bookman successor and renounce his true name. Traveled with the Bookman. While traveling, he learned martial arts and medication skills; skills needed as a Bookman.
Age 7: Was shot by a stray bullet and was on the brink of death. While he was unconscious, he kept on clinging onto Bookman's hair. After he recovered, he heard a few random remarks from Bookman which included "pulled off", "lessened"
Age 9: Lavi finally exceeded Bookman's height. But Bookman told him "You didn't include my hair length, therefore I still win”
Age 16: Joins the Black Order as "Lavi", Kanda nearly sliced him apart until Lenalee rescued him.
Age 18: Went to Rewinding Town and met Allen and Miranda.
And then they’re all friends and a bunch of stuff happens. Go read the manga.
