Notes on Yoite's Relationships in Kannagara (In Progress)

Housemates/"Family"

-Shimizu Raikou: Raikou was the first Nabari person to arrive after Yoite and thus was the first familiar face. Though it wasn't exactly a "yay, Raikou's here!" type situation. Yoite even completely disregarded the fact that Raikou was injured, and most likely this is due to the fact that a) all he had on his mind was Miharu at the time, and B) now that he is closer to Raikou he doesn't want to think about how Raikou may have died. At the time,Yoite didn't know whether he could trust Raikou and though now he does put his faith in the fact that Raikou is a good person and will protect them, the man's unpredictability and talent of mind-crushing can still put him on edge.

But no matter what Raikou is definitely a part of what has become Yoite's "family"

-Meguro Gau: Yes. By now I think everyone knows about "Mama Gau" and if you need explanation for that please see my Nabari Rant #1 for a step by step "How Mama Gau came to be." Gau is someone Yoite wants to protect and feels needs protecting. As much as Gau might try to convince Yoite that he's not so innocent (I mean really, in truth Yoite is more innocent than he is) Yoite still can't get this "front world" idea out of his head. He's trying, but it will take him a while before he really thinks that Gau can safely fend for himself. Also, as Yoite has become intensely attached to him, it means he is now vulnerable to Yoite's tantrums, something only those closest to him get to see. (See Yoite screaming at him after Gau fell of a mountain for an example of this)
Yoite has nearly complete trust in Gau, which dangerously gives Gau almost a "blank check" for what he can tell Yoite to do, but Gau is the type of person that can be trusted with that type of power
-Rokujo Miharu: Yoite lives and breathes to protect Miharu. When he initially arrived without the devilshota boy all he could think about was finding a way to save him and bring him to Kannagara, Miharu was the motive that got Yoite to contact Raikou in the first place, and was also the motive for which Yoite had originally joined the God Arc. Miharu was also the subject of Yoite's first erotic (not really, it was just a kiss, but still for HIM it was enough) dream and thus the catalyst for his relationship developments with Gau. (I know this sounds weird, but see the dream post and the following log if you really need further explanation). When Miharu first arrived it was not exactly the warm happy reunion he would have hoped for, but it got ideas out there in the air that now still hang between them. Even so, the two are inseparably close and this is why Miharu was the only one Yoite took with him when he ran away.

Miharu is the DE FACTO... the be all and end all. If Miharu says it it overrules anything else Yoite has been told (except when it comes to the matter of being erased). Even something Gau says can be overruled with the right words from Miharu.

Ukitake Jushiro: I am going to put him in this section because even though Uki doesn't live with them, he has basically managed to become Yoite's grandfather. Lets applaud him, that takes talent. Besides Yoite's best efforts to make Ukitake hate him, the man didn't give up and ended up cracking through to that more innocent side of Yoite that the boy tries to hide. Yoite usually does not know how to deal with kindness, and thus interactions with Ukitake can often be unstable as Yoite feels he is completely undeserving of the man's generosity. But in the end, when he was on the run, Ukitake was the only one he felt safe enough with to call for shelter.

Non-family people that he likes or at least doesn't feel is an enemy:

Lelouch vi Britannia: At first Yoite thought this was a person he would dislike greatly, considering he was one of the people to encounter Sora in person and Sora blabbed WAY too much to him. However, Lelouch has proven his ability to keep Yoite's secret and for that Yoite has come to trust him more than most of the other kannagara residents. Not a complete blind trust like with his family, mind you, but strong enough that he would feel some of his secrets are in safe hands were they to fall to Lelouch.

Marco: Yoite doesn't know very much about Marco, and is utterly confused by his ability to change into animals without using ninjutsu, but he can't escape that memory of playing hide-and-seek (even if it was as Sora). So for the time being, without any reason to think otherwise, Yoite will consider Marco a good person, but he won't be spilling any big secrets anytime soon.

Umino Iruka: Yoite hasn't interacted much with Iruka at all, save for  waking up in his bed with Raikou and then that brief conversation at the picnic. But it is assumed that the man did heal Miharu and for that Yoite is grateful. A person he can trust with Miharu's safety is welcome in his book. Though he has yet to let his guard down, that is most likely just because they need more interaction, not because he feels there is anything untrustworthy about the man.

Hatake Kakashi: Yoite really doesn't know what category to place Kakashi in. Kakashi is one of the characters that Yoite has had a deeper conversation with and the fact that he responded to Yoite's nightmare peeks the boy's interest per the how and why. So far from their interaction Yoite feels Kakashi is kind and well-intentioned ( he DID save him from the scary banana-man) and has been patient with Yoite's confusion in the wake of his nightmare. Though he feels Kakashi doesn't understand what he's trying to say and therefore is wary of saying more, there is definitely something akin to trust starting there from the fact that Kakashi still listened. Not to mention Yoite approves of Kakashi's view of socializing.

Allen Walker: This was a hard one to place considering the main part of Yoite's interaction with Allen took place when Yoite was horribly drunk and attacked him with suspicions and traumatizing TMI. However, by the end of this situation I think at least Yoite left believing that Allen is a good enough person not to deserve a finger-splatting. Only time will tell if these two ever become anything more than two boys with awkward memories.

Son Goku: Yoite only just met this boy and its in a short conversation over the hitomi, but the boy seemed nice enough and hell he likes food as much as Yoite does, so so far so good in Yoite's book.

People He Dislikes:

Kuchiki Byakuya: CRAZY BANANA MAN. Enough said.
