Sooo i just got back from vancouverr BC. It was my first time in Canada. Cynthia and I drove up together. We made up an entire rap song about it on the way there. It's pretty awesome, and maybe if you're lucky we'll sing it to you sometime.
We got into town around 3:30 or so, and found our hostel right away. "The American Backpackers hostel". We walked in, and they were bitches, so we were pretty much forced to stay somewhere else. Someone recommened the hostel international to us, but first we had to get money exchanged. To make a long story short, the first night completely sucked and we ended up walking around in the freezing rain for 3 hours trying to find a place to stay.
We eventually found the hostel, and called it an early night.
The next day we explored the city a bit more - my favorite part was gastown: A really neat old brick part of town, but it had a lot creeps at the same time. We also ate a lot food, drank a lot of coffee, and by night we hit up the canbie pub and drank a lot beer. We met a lot of out-of-towners, including some portland and eugene kids. Eventually we got invited to a table of local vancouver boys... who all turned out to be idiots. Later we met some swiss guys who were at least good for decent conversation, and let us know some cool places to check out.
The next day we walked around town even more. Hit up the sky train. checked out commercial street, Took a ferrie to the gransville market. The market was pretty cool. Cynthia and I had bubble tea, and drooled over all the wonderful smelling food we missed out on. Later we met up with Petra and Ollie. Ollie was being a jerk though, and i couldn't stand his complaining so i lashed out at him, and he finally shut up. That didn't go to well, so cynthia and I ended up eating a loooooooot of really good sushi, and hanging out at the hostel where discovered there was a library, a game room, a movie room, internet, and other things we never knew were there.
The last day it was actually sunny out, so we decided to stay a little longer and check out north vancouver. We drove through Stanley park, and across the lions gate bridge, And then we checked out the North Vancouver market, and took pictures.
The drive home was really beautiful, and we were lucky enough to see the most amazing sunset ever. Well, i'm actually headed out now to drop off the film, so maybe i'll post some pictures on here when i get them back.
Other than canada. This week has been one of the best in a long time. I'm not going to say why.. but i'm sure at least two of you already know.
Annnnd i'm soooooo not looking forward to going back to school on monday.
