so there was this youtube video some colombian dude was suggesting an international codes of ethics for the business world.
sounds like a great idea but totally impossible and incapable for human beings. Like what my teacher said humans are doomed to death, misery and failure.
So with my deepest interests in ethics and business I commented like 3 times. unfortunaly youtube only allows a 300 word count comment. I've noticed that many comments were "i dont agree" "greedy is ethical" "a international codes of ethics is unethical" well the last one could be debatable in terms of the difference of culture and world religion oppose to western society. Its no duh that most of global business/corporations come from the west.
anywho. what ever this codes of ethics is, it would enforce basic human rights, and it should also include basic environmental issues like no child labor, a safe work force, and no dumping waste in the near by body of water. Just because its illegal in the US its not okay to go elsewhere and do dirty business just because its not an enforced law. Thats the ethics. as far as wages.
wages, wtf wages. there was a great speaker at the real news that said.
"If the car industry got a bunch of robots to build their cars, there would be no one to buy their cars, not because of a boycott."
The idea of low wages granting economic success is like seeing that distant body of water in the desert.
"buy america or bye bye america" - dennis
either I am looking at this in a totally incorrect way or hasnt 2 terms of tax breaks for big corporations that have huge amounts of workers in other countries, lead the US to an economic disaster? how many deficits goddamit! ugh. those youtube comments got me upset as fuuuuuk. greed is ethical, yea what ever.
i've just realized the coca cola company has violated a shit ton of shits. that was my best example for the greediest of them all (on the comments section). And its just a fucking drink company. yea life taste so good. murder, child labor, water theft, water pollution, unsafe working conditions, treason. on my own standards it not worth supporting. coca cola has raped so many violations, and there isnt any bottling factory in the US (so i heard). Too fattening, and too much of it grants health problems. greed in the expense of others is unethical. so no greed is not ethical, its only ethical in a business term of being competitive. It is what capitalism is all about. It could be positive or not, depends on the individuals idea of morality. In some points i often believe that capitalism is what is really dividing this country. Generalize and blame capitalism? i think its more accurate to blame people, capitalism is just the excuse to act that certain way. I have the right to buy what ever the fuck i want, my wallet is a tool for democracy. fair trade, humane certified, Organic certified for lyfe.
i got homework:
when did neo-liberalism take off?
failed failed failed! I am assuming fairly recent. 20 years? 50 years? a whole generation?
