OK Rowling...
I have one bit of commentary for Ms. Rowling...
In general I'm pretty happy with Book 7. Oh, I have some minor quibbles here and there, but nothing worthy of a rant.
My only real problem is with the epilogue. "Nineteen Years Later," was way too skimpy. It should either have been about five times the size (minimum) and answered far more questions or not been included at all.
What I want is a full-on, Tolkien-style "Cleansing of the Shire." Let's find out what the immediate aftermath looks like. Let's see a wee bit of the action that lead us back to the Hogwart's Express. Don't even try to tell me that there were no interesting moments in the Ron-Hermione and Harry-Ginny courtship/marriage/kids sequence. What the hell do they all do for a living?
This was the a totally Hollywood style movie ending and felt completely tacked on. I would rather have just ended than been thrown these bits and pieces.
It doesn't "spoil it" or "ruin everything," I'm just disappointed in Rowling for not attending to it properly.
