(no subject)

Those of you who have been reading may journal for a while have most likley read my general philsophy of people that was written less than one year ago.

Now, I feel it's time for me to type up my general thoughts on girls. Girls are one of my favorite subjects to think about, so I tend to spend a lot of time doing so. Just to finally get it all down and organized my thoughts, I'll post it here. It'll let all of you learn a little about me.

Before I delve deeply into the subject, let it be known that girls are my favorite thing in the world. There isn't much better than a post-coital sigh. Luis touched a bit on why girls are amazing, and we have similar thoughts on the subject. Instead of just repeating what he said, I'll just let you read what he said.

Now, onto the subject.

Firstly, let's talk about what I look for in a girl. The most important thing is the ability to hold a conversation. If I can't talk to a girl for more than ten minutes at a time, forget about it. This breaks down into intelligence and interests. I can't be attracted to a girl who I feel is inferior to me intellectually. Also, we have to somewhat share similar interests. However, most of my interests - video games, poker, baseball - are pretty strictly male interests - so this turns into a matter of music and movies. I'm delighted if I find a girl that shares my slightly-obscure taste in entertainment. I'm thrilled if I can find a girl I can talk to about the previous things I listed: video games, baseball, and poker. The next thing I look for are similar moral and political ideas. I'm a pretty laid back kind of guy, and I think people should just leave everyone alone if they aren't bothering anyone. Girls who are overly moral (which mostly turns out to be religious girls) are, for the most part, out of the question.

Aside from that, I'm pretty peachy. I mean, I guess these could be interpreted as low standards, because at any given moment, there're many girls I'm interested in. However, this is likely because I just meet a lot of people and have a large, extended social network.

Now let's talk about what happens when I meet a girl. I meet a girl quickly evaluate if I have any interest in them whatsoever. The first thing I obviously notice, unless I'm not meeting a girl in person, is physical attractiveness. I'm not picky at all when it comes to looks, and I find that decent looking girls can become very attractive and vice-versa once I get to know them. However, there're some girls, that, no matter what, I cannot be attracted to physically. There's really no set of traits I look for or discriminate against, it's all pretty arbitrary. Note that there are many girls I'm physically attracted to, but not intellectually. In these cases, I'd hit it and nothing else. Next, I determine if I can actually tolerate them in conversation. If they pass this test, I try to get to know them more if I'm interested in them. If I am, I determine if they are dateable. This all happens generally very quickly, and many girls are judged simultaneously. I've set up a system of groups, that I'll explain here.

File 13
Most girls end up here, the insufferable gits.

Toys
Girls I have no interest in other than as sexual beings. I don't even want to be their friend.

Friends
Girls who, for some reason or another, I cannot date, yet still enjoy the company of. There're various reasons why this could be - maybe they simply don't meet up to my requirements - they may be overly moralistic, not up to my intellectual standards, or a myriad of other things. Another reason might be that dating would be a socially awkward situation, due to previous relationships. Usually a permanent position, but doesn't exclude the possibility of sex.

Interests
Girls I've taken an active interest in, it's usually someone I've recently met where I've hit off a nice conversation or two with, I'll attempt to go out on dates with them to better guage their personality and interest.

Girlfriend Material
The girls I've determined that meet my requirements. This is usually done within the first two weeks of meeting a girl, probably sooner. At this point, I've probably spent plenty of time with them. This is usually the point in which a girl either becomes a girlfriend or a friend.

The Goddesses (currently 2 members)
The cream of the crop. The girls that I'm absolutely crazy about. Great in every sense of the word, they make me absolutely ecstatic to spend time with and I'd go out with them, no questions asked. It usually takes someone quite a while to achieve this status and it usually means they're taken, otherwise I would've already asked them out. The one group that's clearly defined, and the one group where I always know the members. Named “Goddesses” after the fact that the first and perpetual member proclaims herself the Goddess of Death.

To those with thought processes that aren't similar to mine, all of this might seem such a distant and cold process taken to something that's anything but distant and cold. It certainly wouldn't be the first time my analytical thought processes have been thought of as outlandish - it's this way in baseball, poker, and just people in general. But this is how I think, and I feel that it's always fun to get inside someone's head. So, there you go... a look inside my head, as scary as it may be.

Some girls also might find this offensive. To that... well, there's nothing I can say to make them think otherwise, and I wouldn't want them to. It is what it is.

If you have any questions... feel free to ask.
