Adventures in Breakfast

This morning for breakfast I had chocolate Oatmeal. 'How's that?' you might ask. It's rather simple, really. My breakfast consists of one of two things: Musli/oatmeal mixed with yogurt and a sliced banana or oatmeal mixed with dried fruit. Well, yesterday I ate my last yogurt, and as it was a Holiday (we have 5 days off of work this month due to Holidays--crazy Germans) I decided that this morning I would have oatmeal for breakfast, and then stop by the store on my way home from the Lab. Unfortunatley, I remembered this morning when I woke up that I ate the last of my oatmeal Sunday morning. What's a girl to do?

For those of you not familiar with Muesli, it is basically uncooked granola: in other words oats mixed with nuts or dried fruit, etc. The last time I bought a box, I decided to try something new, so I bought chocolate-cherry muesli. Making one of those brilliant leaps of logic that humans are so well known for, I decided it would be a really good idea to cook some of the muesli as if it were regular oatmeal. Needless to say, when the little chocolate flakes got warm, they melted. The result: a perfectly cooked oatmeal that tasted like it had been made with chocolate milk. Yumm. I think I may be on to something here.
