Monday blues: averted.

Good morning, eljay-land! For those of you who had a nice long Memorial Day weekend - hope it rocked.

I was so thrilled to have yesterday off; in the hands of FREE TIME it was a great, chill day in which I did lots of great, chill things.

Such as!

  • Hanging out with Sokka (our parrotlet) who is mesmerizing in his silliness (and therefore lives up to his name). If you're wondering what happened to Suki... looooong, drawn-out story I hesitate to recount.

  • Giving up my laborious first attempt to read Anne Rice (The Vampire Lestat - ye gods, SO OVERWRITTEN).

  • Watching Shrek 2, which got Luke and I out of a random sour mood quite effectively.

  • Starting The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield: so far so awesome.

  • Starting The Force Unleashed on PS3: also so far so awesome. I think I am doomed to crush on Vader's apprentice, which is kind of against all my delicate EU sensibilities, but there you have it. He somehow reminds me of Marcus Wright. wts? I don't know. Sam Worthington is sort of taking over my mind the world lately, even if Terminator Salvation isn't. More on that later.

  • Watching Slumdog Millionaire which, WOW. I have been a casual fan of Danny Boyle's work for awhile now, but that is above and beyond anything I expected from him. He officially has one of the most diverse resumes of any director I know and man, was this film something to write home about. Also: need soundtrack ASAP. Also also: I can see why they're not giving Dev Patel's Zuko the Book 1 ponytail. THOSE EARS. :D
Why I just chronicled all that, I don't know. Other than the fact that I'm quite amazed at how many unproductive things one can accomplish in a day! And in the end, that's what a holiday's all about, right? ;)
