So Luke and I have been thoroughly enjoying Soul Calibur IV, and this enjoyment is heightened by the fact that the PS3 version sports Darth Vader as a playable character. Utter badassery! His voice is perfect, and he looks incredible graphically.
The thing that's bugging me, however, is another unlockable character that's supposed to be Vader's apprentice - his inclusion in the game is clearly an advertisement for the upcoming Star Wars game Force Unleashed, of which he is the main character. Now, this game looks all manner of awesome, except for the glaring fact that Vader never had an apprentice and I'm sorry, no amount of EU retrograding will convince me otherwise. It just makes no bleedin' sense - but that's to be expected. The EU philosophy seems to be: as long as s/he's cool-looking and kicks arse, what does it matter?
The problem is I'm now interested in the game just to see WTS is up with this kid and what excuses they give for him being a part of the universe/timeline. Gah.
One of these days, they'll make a Star Wars game that actually makes sense. Right?
