I feel slightly unqualified to comment on tonight's episode, because I missed the first half-hour. But the rest? HOMG.
JOHN HAS AN UNCLE. And Sarah has a brother-in-law. They have family. Total Sarah Moment: the complete lack of hesitation grabbing a taser and preparing to go down the street to kidnap an ER doctor. Just so Mr. Derek REESE can live. And I loved John's own instant 180 at "he's your uncle" - running off to get Charley Dixon - OH. Dysfunctional pseudo-family angst!
Seriously though, keep Reese alive. Having someone around (again - sniff, Kyle) who has lived the Future War - a human, no less, not a protector-Terminator - would be immensely valuable for Sarah and company. Especially since, right now, they aren't the ones running. Next episode looks tremendous, with the memories and more about the Reese boys and tons of terrific tension. Showrunners, you officially have my love. It's kind of unnerving how much I trust you already.
Stuff like this don't hurt, either.
I swear, if T:SCC becomes a victim of
the strike fallout, I will never watch any new show on FOX ever, ever again. My heart can't take it anymore.
In other gleeful sci-fi geekitude:
AUGUST 15TH. NEW STAR WARS CANON IN THEATERS. And the series soon to follow.
Yeah, I used to think any big film concept translated to TV was cheap by default. But now, thanks to certain shining examples, I'm starting to warm to the notion. The serial nature of television really does lend itself beautifully to universe-expansion... and with the insanely high production values possible these days? Yeah. I'm not as scared as I once was.
Anyway. In the case of Star Wars: Clone Wars... I've had my qualms with 3D animation before, but I'm a fan of animation in general. It's an artform rarely used to its potential - especially on the small screen. So, Lucas and friends, I'm ready and waiting for some bars to be raised.
Speaking of animation: where the heck's my Avatar?! NICK. I'm lookin' at you. What on earth do you think you're doing, sitting on finished episodes of a finished show? Trying to milk this sucker for all its worth before it rides off into the sunset and we enter the epic wait for M. Night's movie?
...in that case, you're kinda doing us a favor, aren't you? ;P
