Ah, summer.
The days sure are short when you make a habit of waking up at 12 / 1pm.
I need to stop that. It's not cool. Once or twice, yeah. An entire week?! I suck.
But to be completely honest, all the downtime has been brilliant. I've needed some space to just chill after the craziness of the first couple of weeks out of CUI - where I was anywhere but home. And the fam's hardly been around lately, which means I've gotten the house to myself practically every day.
Bliss, I tell you. Thoroughly unproductive bliss, but that doesn't matter. It's summer!
Anyway, what happened in my little world with all that free time?
For starters, I majorly rehauled this here LJ. I figured it was about time I took advantage of this paid-account nonsense other than just stuffing my icon space, so... yep. I'll give you three guesses as to the subject matter before you take a gander. (Don't cheat! :P) I'm too attached to the blackout title to ditch it, and it works well enough anyway, even if it's no longer paired with Museness. Sorry Matt. You had your spotlight the past 2 rehauls.
I also watched Disc 1 of Firefly, and it is love. Oh how I heart Mal. I think I was destined to fall for this show; anyone knows my weakness for character-driven sci-fi. Only three episodes in and I'm already attached. And Disc 2 just came in the mail yesterday. w00t!
Then, what has especially eaten up my time the past few days: I sneekily rented the Revenge of the Sith vidgame for PS2 through a free Gamefly trial (Netflix for games, basically). This means I get it for 17 days, fah-reeee! And I've already beaten it, so that leaves like, 14 of those days for random duelling.
For us bitter Anakin fans, there's a rather gratifying alternate ending - where, instead of playing as Obi in the Mustafar duel, you play as Anakin, give your Master an eye for an eye... and then, in the most GLORIOUS cutscene of all-time... Sidious presents Anakin with a red saber, which Anakin uses to STAB PALPY THROUGH THE GUT. Oh my gosh, you have no idea how good that felt to watch. I was giddy. Even if VidGame!Anakin is scarily OOC most of the time, which made it slightly less consummating. It's the same voice-guy as the Clone Wars Anakin, who I've never liked (sounds like Hayden on mild helium) - and he was throwing out evil laughs every 20 seconds. *facepalm* Vader... does not... laugh.
Ahem. Anyway. I did not just hole myself up and waste time on my own the whole week, no. I met up with poetessmuppet and her friend Adam on Wednesday, who helped me waste it more efficiently. Heh. Food, random shopping, Madagascar (which was moderately funny but mostly cute)... more food... many laughs. Then, hopefully soon I'll be seeing ye ol' AHS lunch crew - even if Nance and Clara are still stuck at their respective UCs.
Now, if only SoCal would stop being so overcast... I bought a new swimsuit for slightly too much and haven't even gotten a chance to use it yet. Faugh! I'm tempted to just jump in our ice-cold pool anyway.
