Weird Webmail

Apr 01, 2007 07:12

I've been accessing my e-mail via the Web recently, and ran into a strange problem. I kept getting a message that I was over my 200 MB quota. I couldn't send any e-mails because of this problem. I emptied my trash and sent folders, which didn't have much in them anyway, and still I got the message. I had about 15 short e-mails in my inbox, and nothing else. Where did my memory go?

I called up PrismNet, my provider, and as usual got good customer service. The guy I talked to couldn't understand why I was out of memory, so he logged on as me, put me on hold for a minute, and did something mysterious. When he came off hold, he explained that my spam folder had hidden itself at some point, then gone right on collecting spam messages. "Your account will be fine once I figure out how to delete 10,000 messages. Give me 10 minutes." And it was so.

Holy shit, that's a lot of viagra.
