Jose and I watched The Transporter tonight. We saw a trailer a while back for The Transporter 2, which looked really good, so we decided we might as well see the first one.
(I'm not putting any spoilers in here, because you've already seen this movie a bunch of times in other movies.)
It is all that you might expect from an action movie based on BMW commercials (albeit very artsy ones), a Luc Besson script, and a mountain of B.S. There are some cool cars and chase scenes, a very steely leading man, played by Jason Strathan (the actor from Snatch who played Turkish), lots of gun fu, semis and the plot holes to drive them through, an Asian babe, an amusing French detective who seems not to care about the law as such, a ridiculous and chemistryless relationship, some silly music choices, and every plot and dialogue cliché that could be crammed into 90 minutes. It also had one completely original fight involving motor oil and bicycle pedals, which is worth a look, if you don’t have to pay any money to see it.
We give it one Beckett - stinky but fun.
